Food Catering Companies – How to Save Money on Your Event Catering
A large event such as a wedding needs the services of professional food catering companies. Not only is it a practical option, considering the time and effort that one puts in preparing all the food, but you are also ensuring the success of the event. Given that even though you may be a great cook, you probably do not have the experience when it comes to preparing food for a hundred or so guests. You could make a mistake in your estimates and that could be disastrous. Food catering companies, on the other hand, are already used to calculating how much of the ingredients they need for a specific number of guests. They are also aware that sometimes people show up even when they are not on the guest list; it could be some last minute invitation.
However, the top reason why some do not want to have their event catered for is because they think it is too expensive and it will not fit their budget. Sadly, this is true for some catering companies. They take advantage knowing that you need a caterer immediately. But this is not true for all caterers. There are trustworthy and reliable food catering companies who will be more than happy to work with you.
Here are tips on how you can save on catering for your wedding.
- Choose great tasting food without being fancy. When you choose a main course that is fancy, it only follows that the price will also increase per person. Opting for steaks, for example, is not a good idea if you are trying to fit catering into a budget. Ask food catering companies to set a date for taste testing. Choose dishes that are within your budget and make a decision after the taste test. If you have a really good caterer, even simple dishes can be made to taste heavenly.
- Include an RSVP in your invitation and ask your guests to please comply. There are guests who know that they cannot attend the event but still do not let the organizer know that they won’t. If there are twenty guests who can’t make it to your wedding, you will be able to save money instead of paying for them when they wouldn’t be able to make it.
- Try not to order too many alcoholic drinks in your wedding. We tend to do this thinking that drinks are cheap. Which is true, if you compare it to the price of food. However, we order too much and end up not drinking all of it anyway.
